Manual Therapy
As a board-certified orthopedic physical therapy specialist, I believe it is so important to use my hands during assessment and treatment. The physical therapy scope of practice is huge. We treat muscles, joints, nerves, fascia — if it hurts when you move it, it’s in our field.
I am trained in various types of manual therapy and will employ whichever techniques suit your injury best. These include:
Soft tissue mobilization, aka “massage”
Instrumented assisted soft tissue mobilization, aka “scraping”
Joint mobilization
Osteopathic manipulation, aka “cracking”
Application of kinesiology tape
Scar tissue mobilization
Cupping (see here for more)
Dry needling (see here for more)
